V2X Communication Module

This module utilizes a variety of sensors, including radar, LIDAR, ultrasonic, GPS and inertial measurement units (IMUs), enabling seamless and reliable vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication. It also incorporates microcontrollers for data processing and communication protocols for real-time data exchange between vehicles and their surroundings.

V2X communication to address traffic congestion in smart cities. The project aims to create a connected system for vehicles, enabling real-time data monitoring and traffic analysis. It proposes a hardware system with sensors such as GPS, LiDAR and a camera module, connected via On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) and GSM for data transmission. The study focuses on V2X, Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I), and Vehicle to Network (V2N) communication, emphasizing the potential for reducing traffic congestion and enhancing road safety in smart city environments.

The project’s deliverables include vehicle agent devices and a dedicated monitoring and road management system for the transport authority. This system utilizes microprocessors to process data from sensors like GPS modules for real-time vehicle location, cameras for object detection, and LiDAR sensors for distance and safety measurement. The data is then transmitted via GSM modules connected to the vehicles, thus allowing for real-time traffic monitoring and analysis.

The project’s goals include updating vehicle infrastructure, designing and implementing low-cost vehicle agent devices, reducing environmental issues caused by traffic congestion, and sustainably connecting all vehicles. The proposed V2X architecture aims to reduce traffic congestion in cities, maintain a time-efficient system in road incident response, and contribute to the development of smart cities through the implementation of a road management platform.

This project demonstrates the potential of V2X technology in smart road traffic management and its relevance to intelligent transport systems and semiconductor manufacturing. By utilizing advanced technologies in traffic management, the project showcases the ability to enhance vehicle safety, efficiency and connectivity, paving the way for the widespread adoption of V2X communication in smart cities.
